On Tuesday, May 1st, South Bay LMC presented four Large Print Reader's Digest books to the Central Island Health Care. The Director was happy for the contribution and it was added to the client's library. |

| On April 27, 2007, Suffolk's Life Member Representative, Louise Protosow, dressed as Mother Goose and visited 5 kindergarten classes at the East Setauket Elementary School. Mother Goose read to each class separately, gave each child a story book of their own to take home, and posed for pictures with the children who provided photo release letters. Chapter provided the story books. | |||||||

On April 27, 2007 Suffolk Council visited the Nassakeag Elementary School in East Setauket. We presented six 3rd grade classes with Verizon TelecomPioneers branded dictionaries. Each class was given an individual presentation on how to use the dictionary. Each child and teacher received a dictionary provided by Chapter. Pictures were taken of the students who provided photo release letters |

On Tuesday, April 23 South Bay LMC delivered to Lutheran Family Services ten fully packed Birthday Bags. The bags were filled with the all makings to have five girls and five boys enjoy a very Happy Birthday! The items in the bags completely fill the needs of the birthday child's party plus they also receive a gift. Baby clothing was donated and ten $10.00 gift cards were presented for a Stop & Shop grocery store to help fill the pantry shelves. |

Nassau Council recently visited the Cherokee School in Lake Ronkonkoma. Mother Goose read to the kindergartners at a special assembly. There was also a dictionary presentation to the upper grade levels. Mother Goose was portrayed by Louise Protosow due to the family leave of our regular Mother Goose. |

Veteran's Stand-down |

|
On Monday, November 20th, Chapter, Nassau
Council, South Bay LMC and Sagamore LMC participated in the
Stand-down at the Freeport Armory. The Telecom Pioneers was one of
the many organizations that gave their time and effort to the annual
event. Sagamore prepared and served a Turkey dinner for the
veterans. The Pioneers distributed 150 hats,150 pairs of gloves, 100
duffel bags, 40 large bags and homemade cookies. Dan MacDonald who
repairs watches distributed more than 100 watches to the service men
and women.

On November 17th, members of the various Paumanok Clubs and Councils gathered at the main office in Babylon, New York to help pack boxes to be sent to our troops overseas. An incredible amount of donations were received for this event ranging from tins of home baked cookies and boxes of tea and hot chocolate to toiletries, holiday decorations, and puzzle books. The group packed 54 boxes to be sent to the overseas troops. It was a full day and very satisfying. |

On November 2, 2006, a rug map was delivered to the John Dinklemeyer School in Bellmore. Dominic and Dorothy Schiavone, Pat Ronga, Marge and Hank Koehler had the children use the map to locate the capitals of the different States. They had a good time and the teachers were very pleased with the rug map and the enthusiasm of the children. |

On Thursday, October12, 2006, Dominic and Dorothy Schiavone, Hank and Marge Koehler went to The Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford for a Mother Goose Reads program. and delivered a total of 150 Golden Books They visited two classes that day and gave books to two more classes that were to meet the following day. The Children participated in the readings and sang nursery rhymes. The teachers and volunteers were pleased with the presentation. |

South Bay Dictionary Delivery |

| On September 27 Doris and Andy Mobilia delivered 144 dictionaries to the Leo Giblyn School in Freeport with the assistance of Dominic and Dorothy Schiavone. The children represented their classrooms, counted the number of students in their respective rooms and delivered the books. They were very happy to be of help. South Bay was thanked by the children and said they really liked the dictionaries. |

Nassau Count Juvenile Detention Center |

|
On September 20, 2006 members of the Nassau Council Executive Board donated school supplies to the Juvenile House of Detention in Westbury, New York. The center holds children awaiting court appearances for various alleged offenses. While at the center, they attend an on-site school. The center welcomes volunteer participation on all levels |

School Supplies for Domestic Violence |

The Nassau Council recently held a school supplies drive at the various company buildings. Thanks to the generosity of their coworkers, Karen Hauser, Council Vice President, was able to present present a coordinator from the Coalition for Domestic Violence in Hempstead with 24 back packs filled with school supplies. |

Nassau County Homeless Veterans Stand-down |
|||||||
On Saturday, July 8th , members of the Nassau Council and the Life Member Clubs participated in the Nassau County Homeless Veterans Summer Stand down held at the American Legion Post #390 on Greenwich Avenue in Hempstead . Many different social welfare organizations were also present to assist on giving these people a new start in life. At this semi-annual event, Veterans, are given a hot meal, and are also given food supplies, clothing and suitcases to help carry away these items. Ruth Jones, Tom Kennedy, Lynelle Seals and Laura Schools helped man the tables where the Veterans were able to take the food items of their choice with them when they left. |

On July 23 rd , Nassau Council provided a barbeque for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House. They provide affordable temporary housing for out of town families of sick children who are currently hospitalized, and the Pioneers, together with many different organizations, help provide a hot meal for these families. |

Mother Goose at St. Christopher's School in Baldwin |

| On Monday June 12, 2006 South Bay presented the Mother Goose Reads program to the children at St. Christopher's School in Baldwin. Two kindergarten classes enjoyed the reading and books were given to each child. Mother Goose was portrayed by the Steckers' granddaughter who gave a lively reading that the children enjoyed very much. |

Blood Bank Drive |

| The blood bank drive was held at the Crest Hollow on May 30th. It was well attended by all the Pioneer Clubs. Attached pictures of some of the volunteers and donors. |

Nassau Council Plant Sale |

On May 11 th , Nassau Council held their annual Mother's Day Plant Sale at various building locations. The members of the Council at Zeckendorf Boulevard in Garden City spent most of the day selling plants and had a very successful fundraising day. |

| On May 2, 2006 South Bay delivered 96 Golden Books to the kindergarden classes at the John West School in Bethpage. Mother Goose, the granddaughter of Marilyn and Jack Stecker, did a great job of reading and singing with the children. |
